The Aging of Australia: A Nation's Future in Focus The latest intergenerational report from Treasury paints a picture of an Australia that will be both familiar and foreign by 2065/66, with life expectancy forecasted to rise significantly.
This trend is being driven largely by advances in medical research and Australia's universal healthcare system.
According to the report, women can expect to live almost 90 years old by 2065/66, up from about 86 years at present. Men's life expectancy will rise to 86 years over the same period, from 82 years today.
