The Streaming Uprising: Can Local Content Laws Keep Up?

A coalition of international media organizations, including 23 screen sector organizations representing over 750,000 workers across Canada, Australia, and Europe, has called on governments to support local producers or risk losing the cultural identity that defines them.

With streaming giants like Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube dominating the global film and TV markets, countries must update their laws and regulations to ensure that local stories receive a fair shot at production.
